The company’s name was born one night when UNIF founder Eric Espinoza found himself on Hollywood boulevard yelling these words at a group of bystanders who thought they were dressed fashionably but who were instead wearing the most clichéd clothing of the time.
Espinoza started as a DJ but quickly found his talent in creating some of the freshest looks in L.A. Five years into the business, Elle magazine gave UNIF the “editors pick” during the L.A. fashion week, catapulting the brand into the company of fashion giants like Chanel and Prada. But Espinoza is determined to stay true to his underground background. As he says: “I just want to make cool clothes that people get a kick out of.”
