Some label Los Angeles “the worst-dressed city in the world.” Insanely tattered, casual clothing worn by hipsters and starlets alike–to be perceived as mysterious and nonchalant–account for this stereotype. But, that’s what gives the city its endearingly truthful edge.
UNIF, a relatively new mens and womenswear label, started by born-and-bred DJ Eric Espinoza, agrees with this notion. Therefore, the locally based brand proudly basks in grunge and pays homage to Angelenos’ rebellious nature and adoration of rock and roll culture with an array of flannels, vintage tee’s, gothic-style trench coats, tousled hair, and thrashed cutoffs in its fall 20ll lookbook.
After carefully examining the following ensembles, which are photographed amidst a laundromat at dusk and inside a wood-walled trailer, you might just want to join the movement and trade in those Sperrys for something a little more free-spirited. There’s just something liberating and glamorous about dressing down.
