Designer Stacy Morgenstern has had a clear vision of her career path since nursery school, where she outfitted her pre–K classmates with make–shift designs and home–made charm bracelets. She honed these skills further at UW–Madison where she triple-majored in Fashion Design, Retail and Business. Ms. Morgenstern laid the groundwork for her own company's success by designing at mega-brand Izod as well as working closely with innovative designers and icons such as Zandra Rhodes, Elie Tahari and Elsa Klensch.
Ms. Morgenstern's original Deesh collection showed great depth and range — from cozy cashmere sweaters with a preppy twist to figure–flattering cinched ribbon tops and sexy panel skirts; from breezy blazers and boleros emblazoned with sequins to the label's signature Boy Meets Girl® logo collection. Posh yet altogether playful, the line is emblematic of Morgenstern herself who draws her inspiration from the "flapper girls" of the roaring twenties among other creative sources.
In 2008, Ms. Morgenstern's signature brand was acquired by Oved Apparel, one of the largest makers in the apparel industry and the force behind Mecca, Akademiks, Company 81, Modern Culture and PRPS Jeans. With greater expertise and capital, Boy Meets Girl® will build upon its success in what Ms. Morgenstern deems her "couture comfort" and "chic" basics — t–shirts, tank tops and cozy sweat shirts — as well as develop a collection of immaculately constructed day–to–evening dresses that radiate style.
